April is one of the most vibrant months in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. This is when, Spring season blossoms into to full bloom and the weekends are glowing with a wide variety of cultural events. These events range from food, comedy, art, music, and other family-friendly events. Los Angeles has always been known for its diverse culture and sunny weather which, attracts visitors from other cities and different parts of California as well. People travel to L.A. looking for festive things to partake in, so, in this article we highlight and share a few events that may be of interest to those looking to enjoy the pleasant weather and cultural events happening in April.
LOS ANGELES ARTE AGAVE TEQUILA & MEZCAL FESTIVAL

The LOS ANGELES ARTE AGAVE TEQUILA & MEZCAL FESTIVAL event takes place on April 17th 6 PM-9:30 PM, at Candela La Brea, located on 831 South La Brea Ave. This event is a celebration of tequila and mezcal, bringing together signature cocktails, live music, agave spirits, folklorico dance performances, and an artisan marketplace. At this event, you can sample over 100 varieties of tequila and mezcal, sample special expressions during the VIP Hour and enjoy tasty tacos, carne asada, mole, and homemade salsas. So, how can you not be excited about this event? There will be hundreds of premium tequilas and mezcal to taste and, authentic Mexican cuisine to eat. 7th Annual Dymally International Jazz and Arts Festival

On April 25th, The Mervyn M. Dymally Institute of CSUDH brings Dymally International Jazz and Art Festival to the community. This event will run from 1 PM to 8 PM, at Cal State Dominguez Hills, a great line-up of jazz musicians will be displaying their talents. This event brings together the jazz community and musicians from various places to celebrate the genre of Jazz. Talents from all over the world such as Arturo Sandoval, Dianne Reeves, New Jazz Underground, Kenyon Dixon, and Trevor Ware & Positive People will be there live sharing their catalogs. There will also be local and national vendors offering a variety of food, beverages, and merchandise options. I want to give a major shout out to Dr. Anthony Samad the executive director of this festival, and another shout out to Rainbow Promotions for handling the talent and procurement for this event.

LOS ANGELES TIMES FESTIVAL OF BOOKS

The Festival of Books is the biggest book festival in the country with 150,000+ attendees, 500+ authors, celebrities, and influencers, 200+ author events, multiple panels, and fun activities for all ages. This event is held on the campus of University of Southern California, (U.S.C.), with the main hubs being Alumni Park and Trousdale Parkway. This event will have indoor and outdoor activities throughout both days, multiple panels, workshops, and family engaging activities. This year’s festival will also feature a few cultural icons such as, Sarah Jessica Parker and Alexandria Olivia on April 18th, Larry David and the great Lionel Richie on April 19th. Those that are fans of authors, those that are avid readers, and families looking to do something fun on the weekend this event is perfect for you. This festival is organized by The LA Times and U.S.C.

MASTERS OF TASTE 2026

On April 19th at the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium, “The Masters of Taste”, will go on from 3pm to 7pm. One of the premier food festivals in Southern California, bringing together some of the most talented chefs, restaurants, breweries, wineries and spirit brands for an unforgettable experience. This year’s event will be hosted by Chef Thomas and Chef Vanessa Tilaka Kalb of Agnes Restaurant & Cheesery. Other establishments that will be a part of this event will be Uchi West Hollywood, BOA Steakhouse, City Club Los Angeles, and Fitoor Santa Monica amongst several other restaurants. Although this event is a paradise for a foodie what really makes this event special is the foundation it was built upon which is giving back to the community. Rob and Leslie Levy created and organize this event to assist Union Station Homeless Services. All the proceeds from ticket sales go towards housing and food solutions for residents in need of assistance. This is why the hashtag #eatmoregivemore, was created. The purpose and mission of this event make this one of Southern California’s most culturally relevant events. PALEY FEST LOS ANGELES

Paley Fest is an annual event held at the Dolby Theater, 6801 Hollywood Blvd. Hollywood, CA. This year’s festival will run from April 4-12th, put on by the Paley Center for Media. There will be panel discussions, exclusive screenings, Q&A sessions with cast members and creators from TV shows. A few of the featured guest will be Jason Segel, Rhea Seahorn, Cheryl Ladd, Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, and Lily Collins. During this year’s festival there will be a special 50th Anniversary Celebration for Charlie’s Angels on April 6th starting at 7:30 PM. Paley Fest is a great event for aspiring actor, directors, and producers to go and network to acquire new contacts. This is also a great event for industry veterans to meet up with their peers and meet up and coming talent.

CALIFORNIA JAZZ FOUNDATION
“20TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION”

On April 11th, the California Jazz Foundation will host its 20th Anniversary Celebration, “Give the Band A Hand”, at The Omni Hotel in DTLA. This has been a yearly event that highlights some of the most accomplished jazz musicians in the industry. At this event, there will be a red-carpet reception, live and silent auctions, gourmet dinner, and musical performances. Notable musicians in this year’s lineup will be Paul Cornish, Edwin Livingston, Ernie Watts, Grant Geissman, Tom Scott, and Clayton Cameron. There will also be several awards presented during this event with the main honoree being legendary producer and pianist David Grusin. This award will be presented to David for his extensive contributions to jazz, television, and film. During this Gala, there will also be a Posthumous Tribute to John Dolphin of the famous, “Dolphins of Hollywood” record shop. This event will be a classy upscale celebration of jazz and culture at the Omni Hotel located at 251 S. Olive St, Los Angeles, CA.

LOS ANGELES BEER FESTIVAL
“20TH ANNIVERSARY”

On April 4th, L.A. get ready for the 20th Beer Festival at LA Center Studios, located on 1201 W 5th St. Los Angeles, CA 90017. There will be up to 80 different breweries and 200 different beers to taste and sample. This event will also have DJs, cover bands, food trucks, and other entertainment. Starting at 12 PM and going until 8 PM, this event is for beer lovers and those who enjoy tasting different types of beer. This festival was created and organized by Dan Silberstein in 2006 and, it has been a prominent staple in L.A. culture for 20 years. Ticket prices range from $67-$107 dollars; there will also be merchandise available with the beer fest logo.

LA SPRING FAIR

The 46th annual LA Spring Fair is the largest spring festival in the entire county of Los Angeles, this event is brought to you by Helms & Sons Amusement. This fair will have rides, mascots, games, live entertainment, food, and desserts for both the kids and adults to enjoy. Unlimited ride wristbands will be available for $27.00 for Thursday and Friday fairgoers. LA Spring Fair is the ultimate experience for every family member to have fun in some capacity. One of the most alluring perks of this fair is that the parking is free after 5 PM. This fair runs from April 3rd to 19th, located at 1600 North Rosemead Blvd. South El Monte, CA 91733.
